PLUMBING INSTALLATION GUIDE
SEISCO Electrical Installation
WARNING and DISCLAIMERS
READ ALL of the following before installing any Seisco Water Heater.
Warranties are honored and supported with the following:
- Proof that installation and service has been performed by licensed and qualified
personnel.
- Unit has been installed to meet the current National Electric Code, as well as any
applicable local plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning codes.
- Installation has followed the Seisco guidelines as outlined below.
- There is no soldering of the unit to the water lines.
UNPACK
Parts included:
- Do not cut through the shipping carton with a sharp instrument.
- Stand unit upright (3/4" pipes up)
- Remove plastic wrap
- Remove front cover
- Look for mounting holes in the metal back plate (thru the rubber feet)
- Hold unit in upright position
- Attach to wall with screws supplied or1/4" lag bolts, minimum of 1-1/2" long
- Optional Items (may be needed, not included as standard)
- Temperature/Pressure Relief Valve
- Drain Pan
ATTACH WATER SUPPLY
WARNING:
- Nipples are designed to turn freely if not secured.
- Always use two wrenches when attaching the water supply.
- Do NOT solder water supply line to units nipples. Heat from soldering MAY damage
the heat exchanger, and any soldering will void warranty.
- Hold the units nipple secure while attaching to external piping.
- Do NOT attempt to attach water supply to units "inlet" or
"outlet" nipples without securely holding the nipple with a second wrench.
THERMOSTAT
WARNING:
- A temperature and pressure relief valve may be required by local code.
- One of the many safety features in the Seisco Water Heaters patented control
system is the electrical mechanical high limit thermostat.
- The Seisco Water Heater utilizes control logic, as well as electro-mechanical high limit
thermostats for over-temperature protection.
- Since the Seisco Water Heater does not utilize a storage stank, the use of a
temperature/pressure relief valve is not required by many national standards, including UL
STANDARD 499.
- When a temperature/pressure relief valve is installed by a qualified and licensed
professional (not provided as standard equipment -- can be purchased as an option), this
should be checked carefully after the water supply is turned on.
T and P VALVE CHECK
- With water supply ON, there should be NO WATER FLOWING from the valve.
- Operate the valve manually two or three times to purge trapped air from top of tank.
- Close valve.
- Water should stop flowing COMPLETELY prior to connecting the drain piping to the valve.
